Okay Calgary Tweet’ers we have a maybe in mind but we don’t think its the right fit and wanted to ask you guys/girls who were so helpful in selecting a charity to support if you have any great suggestions for a location. We need to choose one soon so your assistance would be really appreciated!
Here are the requirements and if your suggestion meets those requirements then please comment below:
- Licensed to serve alcohol
- No charge for the use of their location
- Have a capacity for over 100 attendees
- Allow us to make it a ticketed event
- And if possible close to the downtown area so we can make it equally easy for anyone to attend.
Lets make this Twestival the best one yet and with your help we can make it happen!

Hi Roger ~
I have a fundraiser organized for next month at a great place. They are a private business club as such ask that their information not be posted in media of any kind.
If you order appetizers catered through their kitchen the room is free. Bar is available with service.
Strict business attire or better dress code.
It is located between downtown and 17th Ave.
Contact me if you’d like all the details. I can give you a contact as well.

How about Hotel Arts? They have been quite accommodating for other functions and events I been a part of lately and I sure they would enjoy the press that hosting a local Twestival would bring them
What about the Marquee Room? Think it has a capacity of about 200.
Wow this is a lot of great ideas. I will pass them along.
Really appreciate the feedback.
Roger
I really like the Balance Lounge at 14th St and 16th Ave SW (http://balancelounge.com/). Great food, great spot.
This is getting real confusing…this site lists the date as Sept. 2009, and the “Official Link” to Calgary TwitterFest lists the date as Feb 09.
Should I be embarrassed for going full out in support of this for Sept??
Too weird, please explain. (plus there has been no update to the “official Twitter local YYC site in a long time, so no info there either).

@randomNRG Thanks for pointing out that issue. New information has been published on Twestival. If you find anything out of order please let me know. Tickets are coming very soon!
